It’s very simple. Akanji, Días, Ake, and Stones are all still on holiday after the Euro’s. Phillips was just filling in with all of those players gone. He won’t go anywhere near center back at City in the regular season. Nothing more than that.

Grealish should definitely have gone to the Euros. He offers something different and we lacked attacking flair. Phillips’ demise is really sad to see. Galatasaray could be a good move for him. Aston Villa might also be a good option as Emery could possibly get the best out of him
maybe grealish should have been doing all this "extra" training all along? just lazy. Also Doku is simply a much much better player.
