I like Dean Saunders, but I've got to question what he's on about with the Kante comparisons, even at his best, Philips although he plays in the same position, his role and qualities are completely different!
Villa actually doesnāt have a bench warmer in their midfield, heāll do the job just fine. just make sure they reject the āunused substitute feeā clause at all cost
Not if you get him fit from the off biggest mistake he made was choosing to sit on the bench for half the season last year

Regardless of how heās playing now pep didnāt give him a sniff because he couldnāt afford too drop Rodri in that title race. Totally destroyed him making him sit on the bench for over a year. Same happening with Nunez now . 60mill and hardly played.
You could say he's lost confidence and belief or you could just say he wasn't good enough for Man City.

Pep just buys players other rival clubs are interested in to stop rivals getting stronger, then destroys them by leaving them on them bench! Kalvin should have known this! It will backfire on City long term as players will avoid City. As a Villa fan 40+ Id like him at Villa! With 3-6 months under Unai on the training ground with the lads n squad we have, he"ll come back a better stronger midfield player n add even more depth to our squad! A loan or cheapish move would be a gud deal. Two years ago he's was playing like Jude Bellingham in the England team and was the best player on the pitch! š®

Phillips is a confidence player, remember years ago when Bielsa got hold of him and he spoke about how he made him believe in his abilities. Never worked out at Man City and when Pep called him out it prob wasnāt the best way to build confidence.
Wish him all the best and there is a player there but there is now risk attached and that would have to be reflected in the price.
