Didier Deschamps has jokingly responded to a Swedish journalist, who called France’s style of play boring during his press conference ahead of Euro 2024 semifinal against.
The match pits one of the highest-scoring teams at the tournament against one of the lowest as no France player has scored from open play at Euro 2024.
The French have only scored through two own goals and a penalty from Mbappé while Spain has netted 11 times.
Mbappé, who will be facing several of his new Real Madrid teammates, will again be wearing a protective mask after sustaining a broken nose in France’s group opener against Austria.
Spain and France’s quarterfinals both went to extra time. Substitute Mikel Merino’s game-winning goal in the last minute of extra time handed Spain a 2-1 victory over host nation Germany, while France needed penalties to see off Portugal after the match ended goalless.

What's worrying is that this 'anti football' has been succesful in this tournament. As an english person i don't want to lose but these two teams getting to the final will set football back about 30 years.
Some watchers need to not confuse football managers with entertainers. The football manager just wants to win with his own philosophy, what is most pleasing is up to him. If you are in competition would you even prioritize what other people think of how you do things? Nonsense, it is sport competition (which can have artistic components) not an artistic event. Besides I think more people needs to appreciate the defensive player performance. Sure it is less shiny thant scoring goals but the French defensive players are playing the game of their life currently. It would benefit everyone to appreciate that kind of performance, it is integral part of football. Besides, Deschamps is also trying to make up with the current state of his players, Griezmann and Mbappe are totally out of shape currently, the other strikers are currently meh. At least, his plan is coherent unlike Southgate. Besides we are going to have two opposite game philosophy with the France-Spain match, which should be exciting!
