Like the others I'm fed up with the rumours, we need action if we are to get another 4 players. City, Liverpool, Utd, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal will be better and scrapping for top honours. That leaves us fighting it out with the next level bunch, of which some will be stepping up this year.. Who knows how Brighton, Palace, Newcastle, Villa and Wolves will be? The right transfers could put us ahead of that bunch nipping at the top 6… I'm def feeling more burst bubble than flying high.
This is exactly the sort of player where in the past he’ll move to another premier league club and tear it up and be worth £80 million and we’re left scratching our heads and saying “why weren’t we in for him”. I actually think the money we offered was spot on. I’d go no further than £25m at a push. Any more than that we should walk away.
There seems to be a pattern with the players we’re looking to sign and have signed. Aguerd, will probably start as back up and will eventually be Ogbonna’s long term replacement, Areola the same for Fabianski. Broja and Onana again look like players being eyed for the future. We are targeting players for the long term, but equally without the added pressure of needing to walk straight into the starting 11 from the word go. The only positions who seem to differ in terms of the players linked is attacking midfield, see Lingard, Januzaj, Sarr etc. and Left back, Maehle. We’re looking for players more for NOW.

Just a thought……in any employ people like to do the absolute bear minimum…get their wages….and go home….employees may dent this but we all know it's TRUE!!! Soucek leaving would be a massive mistake, we need to replace Noble & Kral, we should be looking at him as a replacement for one of them. For how much Kral played I'd be OK with Coventry to be the 2nd guy as long as the other one is quality like Onana
I have a very strong feeling that too many people are still not getting it. Decent players go to top six clubs. West Ham are not top six. I think we have had our good run in the COVID era and will now return to mid to bottom half of the table where we have resided for most of our history. To maintain the form of the past two seasons will probably be beyond us. What has improved under Moyes is our ability to stay in games. And pick up points through higher energy levels across the board. Top ten would be good but I’m not expecting anything more.
