Felix Sanchez’s journey is one of perseverance and strategic brilliance. In the 2004 Olympics, after a nerve-wracking false start, he capitalized on a controversial rule to win the Dominican Republic’s first gold medal. However, doubts about his victory lingered. Facing personal tragedy and physical setbacks, Felix aimed for redemption at the 2012 Olympics. Racing against younger, faster competitors, he honored his grandmother’s memory and aimed to prove his 2004 win was no fluke, setting the stage for one of the greatest comebacks in Olympic history.

  1. I'm glad Mr. Sanchez got a chance to prove to himself that he earned his 1st Olympic gold medal by winning his 2nd Olympic gold medal. Winning at the same exact time; what are the odds of that happening? Abuela was surely looking over Felix while he competed, & she told her Nieto, "I knew it" with her gift of rain at the medal ceremony. Bravo, Felix, Multi Bravo!
