Aston Villa have been heavily linked to Atletico forward João Félix.

The Portuguese international was on loan to Barcelona last season. We meet Samuel Marsden to asses the player’s time at Barça and see why Unai Emery might want him at Villa.

Samuel is an ESPN writer and part of the Barça podcast Siempre Positivo.

  1. A real enigma of a player..even at Chelsea he looked class in some games I watched him play..I happened to catch a tiny bit of him play in the euros as I was passing a tv and seen him look really good for the short time I watched that time too..I do feel Emery would unlock his potential the way Unai can but ultimately it’ll be up to him won’t it..if we can make him feel settled and fall in love with the club then he might just be a successful signing

  2. proper good interview – well done lads – you always seem to have a different take on Villa news compared to other great Villa channels – great questions great informed answers – different gravy this channel.

  3. I just worry , villa will be his 5th club in 5 years and felix is only 24 , and he has been at some top clubs , personally I would run a mile with coutinho coming to mind , but I trust Mr Emery

  4. Well done on this one Frankie. You asked a couple of the exact questions I wanted asked about this potential transfer, but hadn’t heard asked elsewhere. Very good episode. UTV 👍

  5. I would like to see Joáo Félix in Villa colours. However, not sure he would be a comfortable fit with Emery's style of play? But if anypne can tame/teach him Emery can!! UTV Thankls Frankie keep those pods coming I enjoy them.

  6. I have reservations too not so much about his inconsistent play more in the area of his arrogance, attitude and aptitude to do the work Emery will demand of him. On the flipside I do trust Emery's instincts and appreciate that Felix may be humbled by the circumstances he finds himself in, and that he hopefully realizes what an opportunity it wld be for him to be under Emery's guidance and leadership.

In other news… forget the 40m, I'd pay West Ham to take Duran! 😅

  7. I would rather sign players whose recent form proves they can consistently and reliably perform, than take a risk on a expensive player with "potential" but who needs to be "fixed." Especially since so many other top clubs have already passed on him.
