      He’s right tho. What he’s talking about is sustained excellence. Which is very difficult to do, for back to back years let alone multiple years. City have been the best team in the world for years, and you can even compare them to the prime United, Barca, and Real Madrid teams, they cannot sustain that superiority for very long. Players get tired.

      Hey guys I calculated how many minutes is 70 games a year and it's about 7000 thousand minutes, im a fire tehnician and I work throughout the year, I'm a hard worker so I don't take leaf or anything and I calculated how many minutes I work per year and it's 124000 minutes a year, even if we concluded their training sessions, it would probably go to 20 thousand minutes, I've never complained to my boss that it's too much work, cause it's my job. These lot are soft, it's your job get on with it, if yall are required to play 70 or 100 games you must play those games, it's your job imagine living in a world where we complain about doing our jobs, not to mention that erling Halaand salary in a week is what the average man earns in a space of 2/3 years but yes it's so difficult for you lot.

      He's not wrong on that, the number of games they're playing these days is ridiculous. I remember Oscar (and a few others) played 60+ games for Chelsea in his first season, plus a whole bunch of games for Brazil, but then at least he dropped down to "only" 40+ Chelsea games for the following 3 seasons. But if you're doing that season after season, and especially without huge breaks between seasons because of international tournaments or the Club World Cup, there's going to be injuries, burnout, and lots more. It's going to lead to far more players retiring around Kroos' age, and a bunch of them will have that decision enforced on them by their bodies and doctors.

      Anyone saying things like "clubs like Chelsea, City, Madrid, etc" have the finances to have a deep bench are missing the point entirely. Especially when players like Haaland are going to have to be playing in all the key matches that they're available for, and if you need to rest a bunch of other players you're making more and more games become closer to key because you can't risk losing them. That, or somewhat understandably a bunch of the fans are going to start taking issue with how often the "star" players are going to have to be rested and impacting their ability to watch them play.

      That is why these guys are paid big money. To PLAY football! If it would be work it would be called working football. And these days they are protected by referees and the system. Stop complaining and get on with your job because this is disrespectfull to the people who pay hard earned money to go and watch you play!

      Man city have had the best and strongest squads in the world in recent years.
      Im a carer and work 40-50 hard hours a week. See what he says after doing that!!

      Try working 50/60/70 hours a week every week, such a hard life training for 3 hours a day and sometimes playing 90 mins twice in a week for a peasants salary of 300k a week

      This complaint always sounds like "god, we are so successful! We have to play all the comps, and we go deep into them every year.. why? Why are we so successful!?"

      And if you are worried about match sharpness, they play Alvavez more often – simple. But you dont want that either..
