Chelsea and Napoli are currently in talks over a deal for Romelu Lukaku. The deal under discussion is permanent move, Chelsea have made it clear they’re not interested in loaning Lukaku for a third season. The 31 year-old has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Roma and Inter Milan after re-joining Chelsea in the summer of 2021 in a deal just shy of £100 million. Lukaku would have to take a significant wage cut, but is willing to do so to link up with Napoli boss Antonio Conte – who he worked with for two seasons at Inter Milan between 2019-2021. Sky Italy are reporting that Lukaku has already agreed personal terms with Napoli should the deal between the two clubs get agreed. Napoli see Lukaku as a replacement for Victor Osimhen who is edging closer to a potential move to PSG with talks continuing between the two clubs.
