  1. Hopefully (fingers and toes crossed) she will claim Gold on Team, AA, Vault and Floor. She can medal on beam but has strong competition there. Bars is not her thing (although she puts up a good score) but anything can happen. Wishing her and the team best wishes.

  2. Simone Predictions:
    Team – Gold
    AA – Gold
    Vault – Gold
    Floor – Gold
Bars – probably no medal – but… stranger things
Beam – Medal – color depends on if she's perfect and others make big mistakes, which happens on beam
    — Had she not fallen in 2016 on Beam, she would have won, so… and she is the 2014, 2015, 2019, and 2023 World Champion on beam

  3. Shawn was one of the gymnast that US must be proud of.. Her gymnastics was one of the best and hardest and beautiful.. hope she'll pass it down to her daughter.

  4. I love that Shawn doesn’t put pressure on her to win. She knows what it’s like to be under that pressure as an athlete and tries to make sure that Simone doesn’t feel the same way.
She said in an interview one time that she was expected to come home from Beijing with 4 gold medals (Team, AA, Floor, Beam) so when she got three silver and 1 gold, which is still an INCREDIBLE accomplishment, she felt like people were disappointed in her. While Shawn was the greatest of her era (in my opinion), Simone is widely recognized as the greatest of all time, so I can’t imagine how she felt when she “failed” in Tokyo. The dumbest part is that she still won two medals while having the twisties and that somehow wasn’t enough because they weren’t gold.
No matter what color her medals are, or if she even comes home without a single medal, she should be incredibly proud of all that she’s done. Go team USA!
