Joe Allen has been included in Wales’ 26-man World Cup squad, having proven his fitness ahead of the tournament in Qatar.
Allen, with 72 caps, has been part of so much of Wales’ success stories of the recent past but a hamstring injury has kept him out of contention for Swansea City since mid-September.
Head coach Rob Page has named the 32-year-old among his list of midfielders, with Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey both unsurprisingly included despite relatively little game-time this season.
Goalkeepers: Wayne Hennessey, Danny Ward, Adam Davies.
Defenders: Ben Davies, Ben Cabango, Tom Lockyer, Joe Rodon, Chris Mepham, Ethan Ampadu, Chris Gunter, Neco Williams, Connor Roberts.
Midfielders: Sorba Thomas, Joe Allen, Matthew Smith, Dylan Levitt, Harry Wilson, Joe Morrell, Jonny Williams, Aaron Ramsey, Rubin Colwill.
Forwards: Gareth Bale, Kieffer Moore, Mark Harris, Brennan Johnson, Dan James.

I’m in England fan and I want Wales to do really well in the tournament if England don’t win I’m cheering for Wales I highly doubt there’s many Welsh people who Would wish the same for England 🏴 🏴

Zero surprises in the final squad selection. Maybe one exception with Lockyer recalled for the unlucky ( injured ) RND. Lockyer is on form supposedly so a fair inclusion. Gutted for David Brooks. When fit a quality player and will be missed. Unfortunate for Tyler Roberts that he will not regain fitness in time. Would of like to have seen Luke Harris in there somehow. Colwill in ahead due to experience and physicality. Ollie Cooper very unlucky. Jonathan Williams chosen instead. Matondo and James Lawrence the two to miss out from regular squads. Must of been a hard conversation. Ryan Hedges, Andrew Hughes and Morgan Fox should be given opportunities in the next qualifiers. An arm needs to be put around Ben Woodburn as well. Top talent but not being kept in touch with ? Jordan James one for the future as well. As for the players called up – a lot of fitness issues but vast majority of the mainline players are there. Will it be the last tournament for some ?
