The way the media went on about Maddison you'd think Spurs were signing the British Zidane. He's been average at best and garbage the last few months. Nowhere near Englands starting 11.
I'm a Spurs fan but have to admit Maddison hasn't been good enough since he returned from that long term injury. As for the Chelsea guy leaving Bowen behind, what a muppet – Bowen had a sensational season, definitely deserves to go.
During the last tournament, he didn't get a foul call his way… So he got up and cut down the perpetrator… Gaining himself a yellow card. This reason alone was enough for me to see that he is a reckless liability, albeit talented.
By maddison not playing, England will get so many less free kicks now.
