  1. Who next… I think FA will go with an English coach, so my pick is Eddie Howe. I wouldn't mind Graham Potter, as he did a great job with Brighton. Either way, I'm feeling optimistic for the Nations League and the next World Cup.

Southgate certainly deserves credit, because after 2016 we all pretty much had had it with the England team. We turned up at WC 2018 expecting nothing and we made the semi final, could easily have reached the final (but then France would've beaten us). Either way, Southgate had turned the England team into one we were all firmly behind.

Euro 2020, we definitely should've won but it was WC 2022 where I really lost patience with Southgate, specifically when he picked an out of form Stirling, who had just flown back home from Qatar to be with his traumatised family, following a burglary – over an on fire Rashford in the France game. Harry Kane's penalty or not, we definitely should've beaten France, then I think we would've edged past Morocco. After that, you're in the final and absolutely anything can happen. I still think Argentina would've beaten us – it's Euro 2020 that's the one where we really missed out.

  2. 1. Klopp (won’t happen but at least try) 2. Howe (probably won’t happen but def proven and checks every box) 3. Potter (Still an upgrade) 4. Tuchel (good in cup competitions)

  3. Would pep be a good match? Outrageous trophy line up, granted some of it may be down to the sheer quality/cost of players at city but nonetheless he understands the game better than anyone – the only manager to beat his record is Sir Ferguson.

His contract ends next season, and let’s face it, we are impossible fans. No other country has the attitude we hold of our national team to win silverware like we do. If anyone can win trophies it’s most certainly Pep. Why are we not talking about him?

  4. England were a banter team in Irish pubs during the Euros. It's funny seeing some English fans giving Southgate praise in the later rounds, partially fixing problems he created himself. If he had his way Harry Maguire & Jordan Henderson would have started that tournament, most of of his "good" decisions were due to circumstances. England had Spain on the ropes for the 15 minutes they woke up, but I was calm knowing they'd sit back once they got the equaliser. With Palmer, Trent, Gordon, Watkins & a properly used Bellingham in the team, England should be blowing teams away! It's also a disgrace the way Tomori gets overlooked, just because he doesn't play in England.

  5. He's a serial failure. Nobody remembers who lost in a final….in fact our biggest claim to fame after Southgate's reign will be a the answer to a trivia question…'Who was the first country to lose 2 consecutive European Championship finals?'.
Under Southgate, we have played progressively worse football year after year, and he has instilled a victim mentality in that squad.

  6. I feel bad for him, he seem like the nicest and most humble guy alive but he can't seem to figure out the recipe for success with world class players in his hands.

  7. Start with Pep and work downwards! I think pep would go for it if they can wait till his Man City contract ends, plus he will only manage an international team if he's got a decent chance of winning. He also knows he would be regarded as a football God if he won something with England. Offer him 10m a year 😀
