moment of the match England through to a final on foreign soil I know unbelievable I’ve been waiting for that moment for for weeks for weeks you know it’s taken a lot of hard work to get to where I am today and um grateful that I got the opportunity and I and I I’ve grabbed it with both hands and uh I’m delighted I’m delighted uh talk talk us through the goal I swear on my life my kids my kids life I said to Cole Palmer we’re coming on today and you’re going to set me up and that’s why I was so happy with Coley when he I knew as soon as he got the ball he was going to play me and you got to be greedy touch and finish and when I’ve seen it go in the bottom corner oh it’s the best feeling ever and the manager had a bit of criticism for not making substitutions early enough he’s got it dead right tonight look there’s been a lot of CR criticism but at the end of the day we’re in the final and that’s all that matters so forget all the outside noise we’re in the final and to sum it up for this team now you’ve seen last minute overhead kick equalizers penalties a last minute winner tonight something feels special here yeah exactly we’ve got that kind of bounce back Factor you know going to goal behind but we seem to it seems to kick us into gear and and we never give up and we’ve won on penalties we’ve come from behind um yeah one more game now one more game ready for Spain yeah ready the MCH jie Watkins well done Jers thank you England through to a final on foreign soil yeah history history made but uh amazing achievement I’m so proud of everyone every single player every single staff everyone I’m so proud of them it’s it’s been a real difficult tournament and to do what we’ve done away from home is really special but there’s that feeling that there’s one more left and we we need to get that one on on Sunday what a moment for Ry Watkins oh we talk about being ready we we’re a big team on being ready everyone being ready for when it matters you might get 5 minutes 1 minute but you can make a difference you can win this tournament and On’s been waiting he’s been patient and what he done out there is outstanding what a finish so I’m so happy for him he deserves it and we’re going to need everyone again on Sunday over the over the peace did England deserve it tonight I think so I think we was a better team I thought especially in the first half we had a lot of control even going one n behind we didn’t pan it we stayed calm uh second half you know there’s a few tied legs out there but uh overall I thought we deserve to to win the game and with a finish like that he deserves it another goal for you what was were you fortunate to get the penalty were you surprised to see it awarded I don’t know my foot’s hanging off so he definitely caught me but uh yeah look sometimes you get him sometimes you don’t I was happy to to step up uh and see that one go in the back of the net it was a nice uh a nice feeling for sure and now you know I’m just happy to to be through to the final Spain now the challenge another unbelievably tough game you know it’s going to be really difficult we know that um but we’re there we got to the final and there one more game to make history uh and that’s what we’re excited about you know it’s been a tough Journey uh but it’s one more 90 minutes 120 Minutes penalties whatever it takes uh we’ll be there so uh I’m looking forward to it well done thank you very much dude you had some special games here in Dortmund but where do you place tonight it’s got to be up there I think yeah um got to be up there um to be back here at this club that’s helped turn me into the the the man and the player that I am I’m really grateful and a really nice to to do it here in that sense special for me um but the most important thing is we come out with the win you know um finding a way that character mentality attitude of anyone can win us the game if they’re given the chance and Ole came on today and did that and we’re really grateful cuz I don’t know if I had another half an hour in me what can you say about this team in terms of that that that ability to recover constantly yeah I think it’s um it’s something that is built through failure through the first few games that didn’t go so well you know obviously we’re going to get criticism when we don’t play well but it’s important that you know you build that fire you build that kind of resistance to it and understand that we can do better and in these games um you know we we come together like no other team and we’ve delivered again as the way you’ve won these games and we go back to your overhead kit which might have almost flicked the switch has it has it liberated the team now the manager felt that this week he he was seeing that in the team I think time does that as well you know these moments are great it brings us together as a team and as a family something we have in common when we you know being here another day um it means that we can we live through these moments together and because of that you get stronger so these moments definitely make us kind of more together and it’s about taking that into the final now and what a moment for oy Watkins unbelievable you know unbelievable I’m so happy for him um came on took his opportunity and uh yeah couldn’t be proud of him really as a team we we’re buzzing for him because you know I think people don’t understand you come you know you miss your holidays you’re away from the family and you’re not starting every game like you would at your Club it’s difficult you know and it can take a lot out of you if you don’t have the right mentality but Ole absolutely does and he’s got his reward tonight for it and you know he’s the hero and he saved and now it’s Spain and you’ll be facing a few of your Club mates and they’ve won every game they’ve looked very good yeah they’ve looked amazing they’ve looked really good uh oneoff game anything can happen we know our weapons I’m I’m sure um we’ll do the right analysis we’ll kind of watch them sit down and understand how they play as well and again though a great team with weapons of their own so um be interesting to go to to D Bing we said it in the in the press conference the other day that you know people that that have not been getting many minutes you know have to be ready at any opportunity because when their chance comes they they have to take it and you know for him for me he did that um and I’m so so proud of the team he said apparently he said to Cole Palmer right you and me just before they’re coming on you’re going to pass to me you’re going to set up the winner he must he must have knew um but yeah no that’s that’s the that’s the thing we have you know the impact Off the Bench the players that we can bring on and and change games and you know make moments like that and you know that’s what we can do and we’re not there yet we can be very happy of of where we are now but there’s one more massive game to go and none of this matters if if we don’t win that and to be part of it tonight and to to play your part and to be involved obviously for Spain going forward that must give you a lot of satisfaction yeah no of course the the satisfaction is definitely there um it’s been a long a really long long journey hard journey um lots of ups and downs as to you know how my career’s gone really but you know I think right now I have to be very positive and happy of of of where I am thank you luk and well done tonight thank you be many congratulations just your third tournament start but you’ve helped take England through to a final yeah I know it was a tough tough game against a good opposition and you know the the main goal was always the main goal you know to get to the final and hopefully win and now we’ve got the first step and now it’s one more to go do you think England deserved it over the piece yeah 100% I feel like the as you can see the performance is getting better and better and better as I said in uh in the interview a while ago I think after the first or second game performance is getting better and better and better and I feel like the next game is only we’re only going to go another level up it certainly felt like it clicked especially in the first half the system that’s come into place Phil foden influencing the game a lot as well yeah definitely you know we have a lot of players who are very very good on the ball and um you know managed to work today you know Phil was getting on it a lot Jude was getting on get on a lot uh me and deck was working well you know you know they they chain formation a couple of times and we had to adapt and whatnot but you know in the end we got the job done that’s all that matters and the squad made its impact didn’t it on comes Cole Palmer and on comes OE Watkins 100% I mean Cole’s been an impact every time he’s come on in the tournament all all he same as well and then what a finish I mean you know I don’t know how he scored that but what a finish and what does it say about this team coming from behind again to win and the way in which you’ve got through this this knockout set of matches um it’s resilience time 10 yeah 100% we have to have that resilience you know we owe it to ourselves we owe it to the fans we owe it to the staff and everyone around it and I feel like no matter how many times we go down we’re going to we’re going to keep on coming back you know I don’t think we Never say die I don’t think we’ve got that in us you know we want to win this tournament more than anything in the world and there’ll be a lot of belief a heck of a lot of belief after this wer they now even if it’s Spain in the final 100% thank you well done had some very special nights as England manager but through to a a final on on foreign soil where did you place tonight’s achievement yeah I think it’s I think it has to be the best you know it’s another it’s another landmark but the way that we played as well you know we played so well throughout the game um it was a complicated game they kept changing we had to keep changing how we were defensively especially um but I thought we caused them problems all night and um the end is so special for the squad again it’s an example of what the squad are giving to the you know to the cause basically You’ had a little bit of criticism for your substitutions not making them quickly enough but well that was perfect wasn’t it tonight Palmer to Watkins yeah it’s sometimes it can work that way so the the most important thing is that all of the squad are ready to come into the game and they’ve kept tight it’s hard 26 you disappoint 15 every time but we spend a lot of time with those guys their attitude’s been exemplary and yeah so tough ol to get his moment what felt right about bringing olle on tonight for Harry well we we just felt energy wise we were starting to lose a bit of pressure um Harry got that knock in the first half as well and of course OE can press well he can make those little runs in behind that he did um so yeah we thought it was a good moment to try it but this is a team of conjuring incredible moments quality moments defining moments at special times as per Watkins tonight yeah no no question I mean we also had Phil’s shot that was cleared off the line the disallowed goal is inches again so look I I think we deserve the win tonight what pleased you most you this formation has worked you’ve talked about the players mindset changing is that what pleased you most that the level up in performance yeah no question but it’s a different game you know the opponent gave us a little bit more space um the early games we didn’t have any space to play we were very fluid in the formation it wasn’t just a back three you know Bayo did a brilliant job of of covering inside into Midfield to to defend and we had to adapt all the time and the players made so many good decisions on the pitch is the only downside of sorts that Phil foden wasn’t rewarded he was so close to scoring but he wasn’t rewarded for his performance no but I think that’s as well as he’s played in an England shirt and uh he uh he had a huge huge influence on the game what about the fans as well because there was a big orange wall but the England fans were out singing it for most of that night yeah well they’re still here so uh yeah I mean you were looking at the numbers thinking it looks like we play away but um that wasn’t the case with the noise that was for sure
