  1. nah it's easy to sit in a studio and criticise martinez or others , that burley is useless pundit with a grudge against ronaldo and martinez , he was critising them from day one as if with a personal vandetta !

  2. Terrible coach. Ronaldo an absolute embarrassment. Should of retired Euro 2020. He thinks he is special, sorry to tell him but Modric with less work out has more longevity. Even his friend Pepe has more longevity. Will they call him for WC 2026? 😂. Seriously, I watched every single Madrid game he played because I'm a Madrid fan, not a Ronaldo fanboy, and he has been a shadow of that for a couple of years. His performance is as embarrassing as his interview with Piers Morgan.

  3. Martinez is not the kind of coach who is courageous and daring. I find all this pandering to these "superstars" pretty weak. Ronaldo didn't play well for a few matches, yet was never subbed.

  4. I'm sick and tired of all these Ronaldo fan boys, quoting the same old arguments about his past and his achievements. What has Ronaldo achieved in the last 5 years? What has Ronaldo done for you lately? Erik ten Hag knew this, and he wasn't quite ready to pander to the past. Unlike this spineless dandy from Portugal.😃

You want a quote? The greatest boxer of all time once said: "It isn't the mountains ahead that wear you down. It's the pebble in your shoe." Well, the legend that WAS Ronaldo, is the pebble in Portugal's shoes.

    Pathetic!😉

  5. The recent match highlighted significant issues with Portugal's strategy, particularly regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's utilization. Ronaldo often appeared isolated in the box, receiving minimal support and crosses from his teammates. Despite his frequent signals for crosses, the team seemed reluctant to take risks, focusing instead on possession-based football. This approach allowed France to counterattack effectively, exploiting the space Portugal left open while maintaining possession without penetrating the box.

Under Martinez's strategy, it seems the goal was to control the game and potentially reach the final stage through a penalty shootout. However, this method backfired as Portugal's attacks lacked depth and penetration, reducing Ronaldo's opportunities to make a significant impact. His frustration was evident as he struggled to receive adequate assistance, questioning his role as the main man if the team did not support him properly.

In summary, Portugal's possession-heavy approach, while theoretically sound, failed to capitalize on Ronaldo's strengths, leading to a disjointed and ineffective offensive effort against France.

  6. Belgian over here. Not even susprised by the result. Martinez is the biggest fraud ever I was telling it years ago. He mismanaged us and now he does that to the most talented team portugal ever had. Ffs this guy shouldn't get a spot in a team anymore

  7. Both Martinez and Cristiano weren't LEADERS! Neither took the responsibility in stepping up and saying look "your coming off or im coming off because you’ve or ive been poor" anyone else here want to make the difference. Im so glad Ronaldo is getting a REAL humbling in that self inflated ego of his.

  8. It was his last game in the euros. Even if you guys want to rant, atleast have some decency and show some respect for what he has done for the sport. Not even a single post of appreciation and his sporting memory? That’s f’ed to be honest

  9. No that his fanboys can't blame the manager they will blame everyone else because a 39 yr old dropped another disasterclass performance in another major international tournament 🤣😭.

  10. Ah yes blame Ronaldo when they lose and when they win he got carried at the end of the day there’s no other player is gonna step regardless y’all just hate the man at this point y’all favorite still hasn’t scored but can’t stop talking about Ronaldo classic espn 😂

  11. Ronaldo is not the only star in the team. If he doesn't score, someone else should have stepped up to the plate. Ronaldo has carried Portugal on his back for so many years. Now it is portugal time to carry Ronaldo on their back just as how Argentin did for messi.

  12. Both Messi and Ronaldo need to retire from international footfall. Give other a chance.. Atleast they owe that much to their national teams.

Coming from a Messi Fan ..

  13. 2004 Ronaldo would have produced multiple dangerous crosses
2008 Ronaldo would have assisted once
2012 Ronaldo would have scored 1 and created 1 assist against this France
    2016 Ronaldo would have scored
2020 Ronaldo would have created multiple chances
    2024 Ronaldo couldn't do anything…..
The man game is athleticism based..
Once it's gone.. we won't see same player anymore
Maybe he should try his fortune…
As a center back to prolong his career further
    Ala Pepe
