The ref was terrible from start to finish but for both sides. Because we (USA) had so much riding on this game every call was critical. Berhalter OUT!

Absolutely ridiculous calls that didnt even make sense. Hand ball play on, then we go on the red and then he calls it back. Gives our player a yellow (which stops the play) but allows play on for them which give them a break away?? Goal was offsides by a step too. These werent just opinions, they were blatant. he also has a history of doing some very sketchy things like accepting gifts from teams and giving them calls in the past. This ref should 1000% not be a pro ref.
Ref didn't belong there. I've seen better refereeing in youth league. The excuse for not getting the offsides call right was disgraceful.

USMNT needs to learn that losing is part of the game. Just because they host the event does not guarantee them to qualify. They needed to score goals; they did not. The VAR confirmed the goal, not the referee. If you do not know how football (that is the name of the sport) is played, go into a different sport.

Yes, the referee could have been better, but there have been other refs in this Copa that have been mediocre and made wrong calls, etc. but that is part of the game.
