  1. Do you think Southgate is still holding a grudge against fans and media from 1996 when he missed the penalty? He is then telling the players to play by being safe and not make mistakes otherwise you'll end up on a Pizza Hut advert (go watch the advert, for younger viewers)

  2. I don’t get how just because they play football they should be subject to mass levels of criticism. England by far have the worst fans in the world. Flip flop on opinions every week

  3. The talent of the England players is what is keeping them in the tournament. If Southgate was managing any other national team he would already be knocked out of the tournament. The only reason why he still the manager is because the players like him, not because he’s a proper coach or tactical mastermind but because he’s a friend and soft on them. These players need a manager they can fear and respect.

  4. Germany, Spain or Switzerland deserves to win. Turks, deserve to at least go out with a blast but their team is too young and need to develop more physically. However, I honestly think that they are the smartest team; they cover their significant lack of physicality quite well.

  5. It's called entitlement and Southgate picking the same old every game isn't helping it's like they've gone back to the small circles what was happening last golden generation. Other players are pushed out to the outter circle and are surplus requirements. England are a joke

  6. Fans spend their hard earned money on tickets to go and watch the match pay their bills every month to watch the football and these players feel like fans don’t have a right to voice their opinion it’s almost like listening to petulant children some of these interviews

  7. England fans are toxic…even when they win the supporters call them crap….there is no respect for the commitment or dedication of the opposition to push the more fancied teams to the limit …To blame your players cause the opposition have implemented a spoiler game plan effectively is a sad position for anyone who call themselves “supporters “to be in….

  8. It is true that the National team players are like soldiers on the football field fighting for the entirety of the game with everything that they have until the referee blows the final whistle. However, with today's mass criticisms coming from pundits and fans alike through media and social media, they can be overwhelming specially for the players since they are still young and in the process of learning how to cope with the stresses and the difficulties of life in general. We have to keep in mind that if for example in 1998 social media existed, surely David Beckham would have felt a lot more pain for what he did against Argentina and compared to what today's players go through, he got away rather easy.
