Trent the same full back who can’t defend so he gets played CM?
Gomez as LB! He literally done it at Liverpool whilst Robertson was out!!
Southgate has achieved nothing more than bog standard average with this incredible collection of players. He is by far our weakest link and the reason we have no silver in the cupboard and likely never will while he is at the helm.
Southgate is a coward, so you play Trippier who has barely played and stick him at left back and has been awful then you bring you with Luke Shaw who hasent played for almost half a year and is not fully fit…….Then there is Joe Gomez who has performed so well at left back for Liverpool, is match fit and in form and totally ignores him.
Like i said Southgate is a coward.
All stats show Mainoo was Englands best performer last match.

Not the worst idea, Trent is two footed so would do better than Trippier going forward but would prefer to see a 3-5-2 with Konza, Stones, Walker, Eze or Saka on the left, Rice, Mainoo or Warton, Bellingham, Trent on the right, Foden or Palmer and Kane.

So when asked about playing walker at left back instead of right back. He said he's not played very well at right back and he wouldn't want to move a player from a position he is playing well in. What is he going on about ?!
Drop rice for Wharton. Walker for Trent. And start Gomez left back. Then keep the same team and bring Gordon and Cole on for the last 35 mins
Against Serbia England proved if you press them high they'll give the ball away. They aren't press resistant. The players aren't brave enough or they want too many touches to play around or through a press. And because England have no out ball, Southgate won't play wide players or players of pace. It's the same thing Joachim Lowe said prior to Germany beating us in 2010. If you press England they'll give the ball away. We only keep the ball when our players aren't under pressure, hence the CB play pointlessly balls to each other whilst they have time and space. When theres pressure it goes back and sideways because fear of losing it kicks in. The last game showed players with good off the ball runners aren't picked up. Southgate doesn't seem to get that part of your defense is how potent you are in attack. He'd do well to Pair Kane and Toney and play wide wingbacks imo
Gomez has played left back this season and has been quite good there
Either play Gordon and Palmer on the wings or better still for me Bring on Toney and Trent to get the ball up the park to Kane

Anyone who thinks he's not good enough should maybe watch him play and then compare him to any of the current lot he picks. Its a no brainer, he's above most in defence and passing he's in top 3 in the world. Walker is good but trent is just as effective. Its crazy how under the thumb GS seems to be. Will he change??❤ Come on lads! England!

Forget Rice, Saka has been a waste of space. Apart from throwing himself on the ground, his contributions have been pointless.
I am not usually a massive fan of wing backs but the squad is perfect for it. Saka lwb, Arnold RWB. Walker, Stones, Geuhi cb. Rice holding. Mainoo 8… Foden and Bellingham either side of Kane high up the field.
Declan rarely plays the ball forward. Sideways and back will give you a high pass rate. To pick up the ball from the defenders and play forward, you need to be brave and take on players. He doesn’t have the skill to do this. Solid yes, but no technical skill.
Foden must play at 10 not on the left wing – Bellingham must play around him.
Dunk would be my choice for centre-back
Foden and walker don't fit in England system. Trent at right back. Konsa at center half, rice don't fit in England system conner and Jude at cdm. Up front Watkins to stretch the field and saka on the right and Gordon on left Simple as that and England beat Spain in final.

Silly suggestion to play TAA at left back. The guy is right foot dominant and very average defender playing at RB, so what makes you think he would do a good job at LB.
