Alexi Lalas and David Mosse discussed todays UEFA Euro 2024 and Copa America action. Germany rolled past Denmark behind Jamal Musiala’s strong play. The reigning champs, Italy, were stunned by Switzerland. Then in Copa América, Argentina continues to roll past opponents without Lionel Messi and Canada becomes the first CONCACAF team to qualify for the quarterfinals.

  1. Italy are in need of a revamped identity of some sort and rejuvenation. Just not enough quality amongst the current player pool to continue on as serious threats at major tournaments as currently constructed and managed.

  2. Canada had shut-out 3 of the teams from their past 4 matches (France, Peru & Chili).
Canada was outplaying Chili when they were playing 11 vs 11. Canada knew that they almost certainly only needed a draw in this match to advance, so there was much more emphasis out on their defence. Max Crepeau, Canada's goalkeeper, was hardly challenged throughout the match.

    Mission accomplished!!!

    Great job Canada!

  3. So hard for MAGA Joe to spit out a compliment for Canada. LOL In the last month Canada have played #1 Argentina, #2 France, #7 Netherlands #31 Peru and #40 Chile, keeping a CLEAN SHEET in 8 of 10 halves. No one cares what Marjorie Taylor Lloyd thinks.

  4. Gee whiz.
    Were we lucky or what?
We passed on Marsch because Berhalter was the US Coach.
And the first results are in!
Marsch's Canada gets out of the group at Copa and Berhalter's US lays yet another rotten egg and doesn't.
    Are we lucky or what?

  5. The handball rule is a tough one. Sucks so much that inadvertent hand balls on the edge of the area lead to such disproportionate punishment. Also defending with your hands behind your back is unrealistic….humans don’t move that way

  6. Stutter step is also ridiculous. Should go back to being banned. As a keeper I’m biased but it’s not so easy as Lalas thinks to stay on your line until the absolute last second unless you wanna never have penalties saved at all. Has no idea what he’s talking about on this one. Such an American perspective.

  7. I rarely agree with Lalas. But he’s right here. The decision was made to use technology to eliminate wrong decisions. Now, people don’t like the results and get mad at the technology. So in the end, it was never about the correctness of the decision. It was always about if you like the result or not.
