If only Declan Rice played the full season with a CDM, he could've been even more better. Instead, he had to take full responsibility of attacking + defending. Throughout history, all the midfielders like Kroos+Modric (Casemiro), Xavi+Iniesta (Busquets), Lampard (Makelele/Matic), Gerrard (Alonso), Scholes (Keane), Zidane (Makelele, Davids), Kaka (Gattuso), KDB (Rodri), Pogba (Kante) etc. were able to shine, ONLY because they played with a CDM who would handle all the defensive aspects, thereby allowing the aforementioned midfielders to only worry about attacking.
