The players do not believe in Southgate, they tolerate him. Loads of these players have played or play for top mangers and then come to their national team to play under Southgate. Come on, there are levels to this.

It's a terrible comment because it shows he's clueless, he doesn't know what to do, he thinks Kalvin Phillips is the reason England are playing rubbish, when England have a squad of high quality talent. He's now deflated some or all of his players, and confirmed to the world that he's out of his depth. Bellingham is more than capable of playing that role. We don't need 2 number 10's, Foden is one of the best in the world, whilst Bellingham can play a CDM that also moves forward, Stones filling the gap he leaves when he goes into more attacking positions.

The comment was proof positive that Southgate is a defence first coach. I recall about 6 years ago it was revealed that Southgate's staff had determined that winning teams are those that concede the least goals.

Most of my mates call me negative, they keep telling me to get behind the team and the manager and be positiive. I continue to give my opinion which is Southgate is not good enough to manage a majority of teams in the world, I saw from the start how he would manage. I don't want to be right about this stuff but I won't lie to myself, well after the last couple of games I saw it clicking in my mates minds, as much as they hate it they have had to say I was right all along. The Denmark game showed just how bad a sub standard manager can be, the British media have continued to give Southgate praise for failure, he doesn't have any clue, he has a wealth of talent on the bench and he just sits there looking confused,. It is his job to see if players aren't on it, and to change things accordingly, how can he possibly think that if Foden or Kane are not 100% in a game they just be left on, what, just in case they suddenly get better. Really disappointed with the media, you have been given a pass for the last 10 years of lazy sports reporting to come out now and tell the truth, I include TS in this.
