Scotland at Euro 2024: Steve Clarke explains Austin MacPhee argument in the dugout against Germany
could you elaborate on the decisions that you your own decisions that you kind of regret now know you you touched on it could you give us any more things off this day in Camp that’s between me and my players and my staff and some of them got a little shove as well about a especially Austin sorry could you tell us what I mean what was going on there cuz there’s been a lot of comment it really simple uh obviously frustrated I’m frustrated on a touch and everybody’s frustrated on a touch you get these moments all the time but you don’t normally see it because we’re tucked under a canopy or whatever and Austin just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time as a turn round after taking a short free kick when we should have been putting the ball to the box as we did when we scored the goal it wasn’t Austin’s fault because the players made that decision on the pitch and we got counterattacked and I’m thinking well we’ve lost enough goals Austin we don’t need to lose any more goals and then we just had a little discussion about it that was all so did you have a cuddle then was he one of the was he one of the cuddles listen he’s got long blonde hair but I’m not going to give him a cuddle
Steve Clarke has explained what he said to Austin MacPhee in the dugout during the Germany game.
The Scotland boss explained they just ‘had a little discussion’ about a free-kick. When asked if they’ve ‘had a cuddle since’, he joked: “Listen, he’s got long blond hair, but I’m not going to give him a cuddle!”
The Scotland boss held a press conference two days after their opening Euro 2024 match ended in a 5-1 defeat to hosts Germany.
The Scots will face Switzerland in their next game on Wednesday night.

It shows they care… I simply don’t understand the bad mouthing that Scotland are taking…they are up against huge Countries like Germany . They had an off day but no one can seriously expect them to win. Just be proud you got there and enjoy the achievement, if you get a result that’s a bonus. The Scots fans were as always World Class !
get moyes in
Albania managed 8 shots.. Scotland 1… and they want people to pay in to watch that?!!!’
He’s getting found out.
Lets have a comedy routine after that debacle.
So much so for not recalling the incident immediately after the game when his post match conference was horrific never a fan
Very poor outfit
It was an own goal, if the German player hadn’t touched it, it was going nowhere near the goal🤔🤔🤔
Nut. An insider told me Clarke sent him to the offy for a wee half charger and Mc Phee refused.
How about getting the best players of the bench ? And changing captain and goal keeper. Cmon Scotland 🏴 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴⚽️🏆🔥
Utter Pish! Lose against the Swiss on Wednesday. Just get on the F**king plane on Thursday.
