Excellent performance. Build off this..
This thread is a reminder of the importance of women's voices in shaping the narrative.🍒
The Idea that it's a requirement in Soccer for the Goalkeeper to make 200 saves and win the game for his team, is Pure BS.
– There are matches where the Goalie must make unbelievable saves to help his team advance, but not all games.
This wrong concept begs the question: Why do you need the other 10 players on the team for?
In soccer, and soccer is a team sport, everybody must help get the desired result, EVERY member of the TEAM. So, that includes the goalkeeper.
I think the best scenario is for the defense in the team to give you a great start in the tournament, from there you can inspire the other aspects of the team to perform miracles too.
The attack must perform at top level, at least %50 of the tournament.
The midfield elements of the team must dominate part of the tournament too, maybe at the %50 mark.
The defense will have to help the team to not get defeated or not receive goals, and this is where the Goalkeeper will have to perform his miracles.
If everybody does their job plus… then you can expect to go farther than if you try to require one player or one line in the team to shoulder the whole responsibility.
We've all seen teams whose defense performed miracles in the defense and midfield and even scored goals to win the game. But this is not something that happens by design.
The Goalkeeper is the only member of the team that must not make mistakes, because he's the last line of defense or the last player on the goal line.
And the attack or the scorer must never be a STAR he must be a Team Player, one that sacrifices for his team…
You can realize unbelievable results also by planning for them, some coaches go at it detail by details… Let visit the memories of the French team before the 1998 WC. They and their coach were hated by the French media.
All this to say, the Media doesn't coach the Players, the Media doesn't play the games, but you need to learn how to use your Media to your advantage, i.e. don't explain to them sh!t sometimes.
It's not easy to win tournaments, otherwise everybody would be doing it, year after year.
There are around 200 countries in the world, less than 25 National team have one the Top international Trounaments.
