  1. In situations where the opposing forwards are hyper aggressive on the defence, some managers would have their goalkeeper push up to form a back 4 and cause an overload against the forwards. Why didn't Alonso try that?

  2. No tactic is more advanced than another, it all comes down to the appropriate choice based on the players you have and their execution, of which this game is a great example. Good job!

  3. I predicted gasperini will become one awesome manager 3 seasons back vs real madrid his formation is the real key to success despite selling all good players he is still a master class tactician kudoos to atalanta and gasperini ☝🏻🤙🏻

  4. People were like Alonso got it all wrong. Gaspeirini's tactics is crazy. They press all match long and they believe the man is more dangerous than the ball. I have seen some of their matches and the way they defend their corners is even ridiculous.

  5. I was waiting for you to say "Trust" coz that's what Atalanta's tactics has been all season. Am sure you will be surprised if you decide to breakdown their tactics this season, its ridiculous.

  6. Watching this gave me flashbacks to when I have a great run of form in FIFA only to get stunned when that one person does constant pressure 😂fair play tho, Lookman had the game of his life as well.

  7. But then after Boniface came in why they were able to pin down Atalanta's defence and when frimpong joined the attack they had an overload so how come they didn't utilise that situation tho?? Well i guess overall the keeper joining in the defence would've been more effective

  8. It pays to have a goalkeeper that is good with his feet, you can't press City that way coz Ederson will always serve as an extra body.

  9. I love Italian art of calcio! Just like Inter against Man City, who struggled so badly in the final and should have lost when looking at the xG's. The filosophy of italian football is so impressive, creating caos without the ball.

  10. The key was really in Boniface, he should have started the game to duel with Hien, if Boniface could win some balls there, they could caught Atalanta behind their midfield´s back and have all the space. Very good game and very well played by Atalanta, by their road to the finals, both teams were deserving of the trophy, this was one of the best Europa League finals for me.

  11. Gasperini was the one to break the streak because his formation fully counters leverkusens syle of play. He isnt some genius, just someone that uses a direct counter to alonsos formation.

  12. Maybe gasperini took very good choices but alonso made a lot of catastrophy decision one of them debut of palcios over andreich and not starting with write striker Schick was fit also Atlanta were too strong and aggressive especially when they pressed in the middle probably one of the point that gasperini prepared for it is that wirtz shouldn't have the ball that movement reduced a lot of Leverkusen danger in the attack

  13. Leverkusen killed by their easy journey: they can’t handle the intensity! Wirtz and his forwards can’t hold up the ball or turn in the center of the pitch – They are just Physically WEAK. This nobody can dictate the tempo! Period. Few words of this video make sense. Why cannot Leverkusen apply man to man? Because Scamacca and De Katelare can hold up the ball! You only very slightly mentioned “hold off his man” and “drop deep”. I think you are evil in that you try to ignore the essence of football being partly a competitive of physicality, just like you focus on analyzing fancy build-up plays. The core is: who is doing the dirty physical work!

  14. A semantics thing. "Perfect" is typically associated with a winning run rather than an unbeaten run. He's one game from "invincibility" rather than "perfection".

  15. I recently started watching your videos and I am really surprised what a good football knowledge and vision you have. One question I have is do you play Football Manager and if you do, are you that concentrated and what is your progress :D. Keep up the good work!
