  1. Martinez was hired to be a Yes Man. Someone who doesn't make waves and someone who calls Ronaldo because he has to. Too many interests to keep Ronaldo in the team. Nike will sell more Portugal shirts, more attention to the team with him than without him. He's disrupting the whole squad being there but no one has the courage to say it. He should be at home seeing this tournament at home. Give your place to the younger generation. Without you playing we won the Euro 2016. He's a liability for my squad.

  2. I thought you're expert on football my goodness this Portuguese players can not play on there own without Ronaldo .You know what happen last World Cup right my God you commentators are suppose to be expert but you guys are nothing but Ronaldo haters …pweeee

  3. Portugal were a bit lacking the physical presence of Ronaldo in attack against Croatia!!!! They were lacking the his aerial presence in the match, still strong in the air at 39!!!!!

  4. Major difference between 2022 in Qatar & 2024 Euros is that Cristiano enters this tournament in great form, with great continuity & consistency within the team + in a happy state of mind… whereas heading to the world cup in 2022 he was heading into that tournament in the worst form of his life + most likely in the worst state of mind considering how everything unfolded in his last season at United… no one wants to bring up these facts & yet these facts are what make a massive difference in a players performance on the pitch. It’s a domino effect. These players ( yes including Cristiano) are human at the end of the day 🤷🏽‍♂️

  5. Why don't you talk about the other Portugal forwards. They are definitely not better finishers than Ronaldo despite his age. Also who else would you want to take a penalty in a big game other than Ronaldo, which is what these tournaments come down to. Messi who you keep praising had 5 penalties at the recent world cup…. Ramos was on the bench most of the season for PSG and Jota was injured almost all season. So all of a sudden why should they start over Ronaldo who scored 10 goals in 10 games in qualifying and 40+ goals for Al Nassr. Which team has ever won the world cup or Euros playing a high press, certainly not Argentina at the recent world cup.

  6. Fact that fernando santos and Ronaldo arent on speaking terms anymore despite their history of 20+ years tells you how tedious that line is. Ive been watching CR my entire adult life. He is resilient and like messi has adapted and excelled. Modric too that game was played at high level for match week before major tournament. Great how crowd responded to Luka : )
Roberto wasnt getting the job initially without CR blessing as the performance in Qatar wasnt strong enough to empower Bruno and Bernardo going forward as Captains without Pepe and CR. While the youth like Joao neves and vitinha do look to them its still different generations. Cristiano can still convert as good as anyone, but he doesnt create like he used to and I think Ramos has good future, but Jota should play as a striker. His movement is superb and he is remarkable in the air type of player who will grow into role too like at Liverpool. He adds another dimension in attack and press even beyond Ramos and has enough mobility to play with Leao on left and Felix, bernardo, neto on right and utilize all of field and be so much harder to defend. IMO

  7. What is that take? Do you really think a foreign coach can come to Portugal team and kick out the Captain and best EVER player?? Are you insane??
That would have been Martinez legacy even if he won trophies with Portugal.

  8. The media are the real liability, highest goal scorer in euro qualify.

They have been talking and he keeps scoring for Portugal.

Is it a crime to be 39 and still playing well in any part of the world
