The thing is, say Trent plays all the group games and the R016 and we win them all. Then we face a stong team in the QF that wont let us play as much, will Southgate want to change a winning team?
Trent cant defend well. Thats the problem. England can be left exposed if he plays there by higher ball possession teams like France, Spain or even Croatia. Trents glaring flaws would be exposed.

Anybody who is connected to the scouse in any way whatsoever will always be a world beater according to any ex scouse player. Their bias is off the charts. AA is a failed full back because he's got no defensive skills whatsoever so put him in a midfield where you don't just pass the ball forward, you go get it back, dig in and defend across the box he will let us down every time. The amount of games the scouse lost, big, big games, (Champs league final for example) where AA totally lost who he was supposed to be marking and they were punished. He's both a luxury & a liability. Not good enough all round to be selected.

It’s rubbish, we have one of the best teams, when we play against the big teams we should be controlling the ball
There is no player in the England team who has more experience in big games ,sorry except walker Bellingham and Foden ,Gallagher and Wharton are not even close to his level
Play Trent in midfield for the euros they’ll be out as soon as they meet a half decent side, he ain’t good enough to play all aspects of midfield
Trent in midfield is such utter nonsense and explains why England are unlikely to win. Him in midfield? Really? Can he play bread and butter passes rather than the glory balls? What is he like when it gets busy and competitive? He takes risks because that is why he picked. Can he give it quick or is he always looking for long passes? If he cannot play against the best teams, how does he play against poorer ones?

Surprise surprise Murphy thinks a Liverpool player should start and play anywhere, all the time and is incredible. Trent is a top player but he hasn't played there enough to risk it if you don't need to when you have players who's natural position is at 8 or 6. If it's a game we will dominate he can play at RB and invert into the 6-8 position and doesn't need to start there, if it's a difficult game he could be a liability. If it's a game we should dominate who are you playing at RB instead as they won't be needed for their defensive ability and won't be as good going forward as Trent. Play RB and switch to 6 if we are chasing the game.
