I love Gallagher but he can't play possession football. If got 40 plus million for him as much as don't want him to go. You can't turn that down.

Andy sees the need to defend English players..In a possession type team like city , Gallagher cannot play in it..He does not have good foot control of the ball, He cannot see passes and also give stupid fouls away..
Why? Because Gallagher is the right type of English? Or because of his blonde highlights?
Gallagher is not the captain of Chelsea Football Club… Gallagher is not Chelsea's best #10 (he was terrible in that position which impacted Enzo and the whole team)… Gallagher is not Chelsea's best midfielder, or the best midfielder they can recruit… Gallagher is no better than players like Mount, who also had a lovely banner before Chelsea moved him on.
Worse, none of the sides Chelsea are chasing would start Gallagher (City, Arsenal or Liverpool)… The latest rumour is Villa taking a punt on him.
I don’t get the hype around this player he can’t pass a ball and all he does is run like a headless chicken. If he wasn’t English he would be criticised more by the media and fans. He is certainly the least talented midfielder in the current England team.

I love Gallagher. But anyone with half a football brain can see clearly that he won't fit into Enzo's system. I'll hate to see him go, but he will almost certainly be sold. I would expect better analysis, but this is what passes football punditry these days.

Couldn’t disagree more with Andy on that take. Pochs system was suited more for his energy fast transition players like Gallagher and not Enzo while Marescas slow build up system suits more technically gift players. I’m glad Gallagher got better this season but you have to accept an offer for 50m for a player who will most likely be coming off the bench and that does not suit the system. Same with Chilwell

He was one of our best players. But he's an average player with a much average ceiling. Sell or stay won't really matter.
As a blues 💙 fan there is no way he goes 5 years. Maybe 15 months. Ntn against him but the board as proven they have no patients to give a coach the chance to get it right
if by "possession football" we mean playing the ball from side to side, or back, we dont want it. i wouldnt be too upset if Conor went because he is rash and late in tackles, not convincing as a ball winner and often poor in finishing. There used to be time when if we lost the ball in the middle it wasnt long before we won it back cleanly and fairly. Makelele, Mikel,, Essien and Kante were brilliant at this in past winning teams. Caicedo can do this and i think Lavia will be the same. These two plus Palmer are the players to build the team around. But its not possession which is key; its quick thinking in distrbiution of the ball. Lampard, Ballack and Fabregas were masters of this. At present we only have Palmer on this level. We need one more like him.
