  1. You need to add more players who make the jump to Europe more than mls. We need to be more than a squad filled with mls and then think they will challenge top teams.

  2. Maybe Miller goes LB with Cornelius at left CB, if Laryea starts RB and Johnston at right CB? Marsch talked about experimenting with Johnston in the middle.

  3. Osorio was not a surprise to me at all. Leadership is the obvious reason, but also he has better vision in tight spaces to play as a 10 than anyone else on this roster. I would expect that Osorio starts against a team like Peru who may sit back in a low or mid block. Osorio can help with the overloads and find that pass in the final third that this team sorely lacks.

  4. I think if we play 3 at the back then Johnston loses out. He has struggled at RCB for Canada but he is absolutely excelling as a RB on Celtic. Also he has played under Postecoglu whose system is like Marsch’s but on steroids. In order to make sure you get Canada’s best players in their best positions on the pitch, we need to play a back 4 which becomes a back 3 in possession with Johnston bombing up the pitch to provide the overload on the right with Buchanan and/or Hoilett.

  5. Doesn't Osorio's inclusion suggest Marsch intends to field a 10 in a 4-2-3-1? Hoilett, Osorio and Kone could all slot in to a 10. David too, of course, though I'd hope to see him up top in that formation.
