  1. I'm a United fan, and I think that doku is the player who really disturbed Wan more than any other winger. That success rate he had, was quite good, when compared to how others have fared on a one vs one battle against Wan

  2. Doku was the ONLY City player who showed up to that match, and he didn't even start. I think the reason Pep doesn't start him more often is because:

    1. He is young and new to the team, therefore he doesn't have a lot of first team minutes against PL teams.
    2. He dribbles too much. Pep prefers his wingers to basically be CAM's. Bernardo Silva would play CAM on any other team, and Foden doesn't do a lot of dribbling/running as most other wingers do, instead he creates space by passing and playing off his teammates passes. Doku is a great "traditional" winger, Foden is a great modern winger.

  3. I’d say this was 50/50. Doku caused A LOT of problems coming on. AWB dealt with it extremely well. Can’t think of any out and out RBs besides Kyle Walker who could’ve done that.

  4. Doku was City outlet 2nd half, wan Bissaka cut him to shreds. He was a threat, wan Bissaka negated that. Doku was a ball of frustration trying to influence the final. He did get the goal off Garnacho, Onana should save that though

  5. Awb is and has been one of the few defenders who can go 1v1 against the best dribblers in the world and dominate. It's a shame most of the fans want him gone

  6. He has some major weaknesses in his game but it’s so exciting watching Wan Bissaka against a proper winger. I’ve been saying it for years but for at least the next season there are more pressing issues than right back so I think he will stay at least another year and has a chance to round out his game.

  7. AWB is really strange. His one v one defending and slide tackling is as good as ANYONE in football history. But all other aspects of his game, not so. His positioning, off the ball and going forward need work. But again, one v one, he is the best in the world.

  8. For context, Doku has the highest dribble success rate in Europe this season, whilst AWB is widely known as the best 1v1 defender in the world. It was effectively the highest quality of 1v1 duel we'll see this season

  9. You really got to give it to Doku. He tried and tried. Legend has it that Doku is still trying it in his dreams and got pass Aaron many times!

  10. I feel the only reason he got a goal was because of the instructions from the managers to retain a narrow defensive system.

Had he been permitted to engage douk higher up doku would have had absolutely nothing to scrap off. But yeah fair play to doku he had the sense to attack granacho in🎉stead of Awb

  11. though his sliding tackle is so precise but what he could do to avoid the risk of losing penalties is to do shoulder tackle. with that being done, most of his sliding tackles weren't even necessary. rewatch and see in how many of these situations, if shoulder tackles were put into play he wouldn't even lose a corner.

  12. Doku actually spins wan bissaka quite a lot to my liking. Even the mbappe/neymar combination couldn't do that.

Wonder why Pep didn't just start him to begin with.
