Nawaf Al Abed, a 21-year-old striker for Saudi Arabian soccer club Al Hilal, on Saturday scored what is believed to be the fastest goal in the history of professional soccer when he hit the back of the net an incredible two seconds after the opening whistle in a Prince Faisal bin Fahad Cup match between his team and Al Shoalah.

  1. That's 3 seconds long. Time it perfectly and the goalkeeper blows the whistle at 0:04 and he scores at 0:07.
To be honest, I think he scored at 0:08 but I'm not sure( as I can't determine whether it crossed the line at 0:08 I'll give him a seconds grace.
Plus Ricardo Olivera's goal was anyways 0:028 second so it would anyways make him faster.

  2. This match was later declared void as ineligible players had been fielded. As such the status of this goal as the fastest ever has been disputed.
