Type of hire that if Bournemouth or Palace made you wouldn’t raise an eyebrow.
The guy has a lesser CV than Frank De Boer had when he ended up at Palace and much worse than than Ten Haag for example.
Xabi Alonso was clearly the best choice. And we’ve ended up with this guy.
When we were a shambles after Rodgers left we were choosing between Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti. Now after getting to a far higher higher level, we’ve settled for a guy who’s done a half decent job for Feyenoord ffs.
Not getting Alonso has zapped any optimism I have about the club. This guy is such a downgrade from Klopp. We’ll be lucky to get top 6 next season.
