Mauricio Pochettino was in a snappy mood with reporters despite Chelsea’s victory over Brighton at the Amex.

TIMESTAMPS:

0:00 Players deserve full credit. I feel so proud, facing Brighton is difficult but we are so happy. We are close to achieving what we want which is European football.

0:50 Frustration from Reece James but I’ve not seen it back. It’s painful and disappointing.

1:21 Mudryk is not okay. We used the concussion sub, he won’t be available for next game. I didn’t see the incident, it’s difficult to judge.

2:05 6th a measure of success? I don’t know. My words, no one cares. It’s only about rumours. It’s not important. It’s about winning games. My view on the players hasn’t changed. We are now matching the performances.

3:36 Nicolas Jackson? He’s 21 years old coming to a different country. We started to asses him straight away and judge him. It’s very frustrating the early opinions.

5:53 We only analyse the results. It’s about the process. In the circumstances where we are working, we need to go with caution. This is not my team, this is Chelsea’s team. If people are happy, then that’s good.

9:12 Nkunku impact? He’s suffered a lot. It’s a long period where we needs to build and I’m so happy for him. He was so tired having only played 60 minutes.

  1. I love Poch I hope he stays at Chelsea and stay grounded and not let things go over his head. Went to watch the game today against Brighton it was beautiful to see the players focused and the manager bring that composure can tell the prayers look up to Poch and everyone wants to do well expect for Sterling who is here to mess things Sterling has a very good Arsenal friend explains his performance a lot PochIn and Sterling give the club the money and Sterling nothing in return

  2. I really appreciate how he doesn’t let anyone bash his players and motivates them, well done poch next season we’ll have a very hungry and different chelsea.

  3. If Boehly gets rid of poch im gunna be so angry. He's done a great job pulling all these youngsters together while being criticised every week. Must be frustrating for him that he's only just getting the praise now we're getting the results

  4. The reff almost cost us. No corner after denying Marc C penalty, no red card after the Brighton keeper last man tackle, no red for Lamptey intentional foul on Mudryk, and denying Jackson's goal for the softest foul when he jump to head the ball.

  5. Today's game was a clear example of how the on-field ref was totally controlled by those in the VAR room. Its almost as though the ref on the pitch was a robot being fully controlled by others. All of his decisions were overturned and they forced him to go to the monitor 4-5 times and pressured him to overturn all of his decisions.
1.) Chelsea pen given was overturned
2.) Surprisingly they didnt send him to the monitor and allow him to watch the Mudryk's concussion elbow by Lamptey and just told him via the mic that no conclusive evidence found ( lamptey didnt even get a yellow ). He had to take their word for it .
3.) Jackson's goal was ruled out by VAR for a push on Lamptey .
4.) Reece James Red which even De Zerbi rolled his eyes when he saw the way Pedro was rolling on the ground like fish out of water because he wanted the game to resume . The whole incident took at least 5 mins to resolve.
5.) Again, Brighton's goal keepr that came out of the box and tackle Jackson who was 1 v 1 was given a yellow by VAR but they didnt send the ref to the monitor to allow him to make the decision .

As a result , there was 9 added mins in the first half and 10 mins added in the second half.

Var is just getting out of hand at this point because PGMOL are handling it like a mafia. I think PL should allow other European Refs to officiate in the PL . That way , we will see other perspectives and the English officials wont be allowed to control it like a racket .

  6. The owners need to keep Mauricio Pochetino, Trevor Chalobah and Conor Gallagher if they care about Chelsea Football Club and want the club to succeed 2024/2025. The team is improving and this progress must not be interrupted. The medical team need to keep the players fit and out of injuries to the best of their knowledge next season 2024/2025.

  7. I, along with a lot of Chelsea fans were more than happy to give him at least 2 seasons as long as improvements were clearly visible. They are. No more scattergun purchases just a little tweak upfront and in defence required.

  8. Not a Chelsea fan but I think it's a mistake if Chelsea fires him. He is a good manager and with time he will improve the team.

  9. I fully stsnd with Pochettino, he deserves some respect and doesn't have to kowtow to your stupid questions when all you lot are doing is deliberately misunderstanding and misquoting what he says.

I will gladly take 6th spot and the UEL, I thought we wouldn't get it but if we win at home and possibly get that 5th spot should Tottenham lose at Bramall Lane, I'll take it. Next season though needs to be a major improvement from every single player. Palmer and Gusto should not be dragging the team out of difficult times, everyone needs to improve. No ifs or buts.

  10. Funny how all the Poch haters have disappeared, they clearly only judge a team and manager by results. Chelsea needs a steady hand and time to create a club culture that will bring consistency. Some very nice goals today, they're starting to look like a real team. Boehly needs to step back and let Poch do his thing for a few years and Chelsea will be right back in it.

  11. Poch has to brave and Chelsea need to cut their losses on several players in the summer if they are to sustain their recent impressive form. I think Sterling's finished, Enzo's surplus and Mudryk's sadly just at the wrong club.
On the plus side, Palmer is consistently good, 20 yo Gusto looks an absolute steal for €30m, Nkunku is getting there as is Madueke. Will Jackson's poor decision making improve? I'm not so sure but Chelsea finally look a side more together under Poch

  12. Feel for Poch.
    Every week:
    – Cup final. Is this success?
    – cup final. Is this success?
    – 7th. Is this success?
    – 6th. Is this success?
    – is this a successful season?
How do these reporters not gauge out their own ears having to hear each other bait him every week with the same dry shit.

  13. What poch is saying is that if you are running a program,it takes a long time to peak. You don’t just peak straight away you adapt to your new training program and everything around it And If you peak to early it can hurt you in long run. Poch in.

  14. Poch stop silly games, you been shit most of the season and a few wins and you’re Billy Big Bollocks … just get your head down, stop sulking and make Chelsea great again
