Neuer's mistake and the refereeing mistake for the offside call are the two big Bayern talking points. The supposed damage done to Tuchel's chances of becoming the next Man Utd manager.. because he subbed Kane (who was injured by the way).. was not on my bingo card.

They make it always about the English players. This was Neuer's undoing. Until then the momentum of the game was being sapped from Madrid. That one error, changed everything. Plus, you cannot take off all your attackers and just hope Madrid won't score in the dying minutes. They've done this against one of the best City teams in recent years so that was an error on Tuchel's part. He puts in Muller who is as good as having Mertesacker in attack. Even if Kane had injury or fatigue issues, you got to put on an attacker so that Madrid is pressured on the counter.

And by the way, why wasn't Nacho sent off for that push on Kimmich? I was taught that anytime you put your hands on an opposition player's face or throat, you're off. He wasn't even shown a yellow, much less a red. At that stage, going one player down would have had a significant influence on the game and the result.
