      Messi could still start for any club in the world right now with the possible exception of Madrid and City. When Beckham came, he was a shell of his former self. His body was broken. Messi came here fresh off of a World Cup and Golden Ball as the best player of the tournament. Is he in his prime? No, he's 36, but he's still the 🐐 and he's playing like it. MLS is insanely lucky to have him and the league will never be the same because of it.

      one of the main issues with player age is that the marketing companies are trying to set up their next young thing on relatively low cost while the best players are on huge sums but the time they finish. A player that looks after himself is actually peaking 32-34 as that is when body can do what mind wants. Lower than that there is little mind. after than and body starts to not be able to do what mind wants. But you can be world class and win any competiton (if you had teh capacity for that in the first place) up to 38 at least. Only low IQ players are done after their body peaks. Its like that boxer that hurt his hands and had to use a defenisive stye that turned out was the best boxing strategy. You become the maistro as you age rather than the lead violinists.

      Yes, well said. All this and he's missed 4 games, why? Because he was chopped down like a tree and could have sustained a career ending injury with that tackle on him, and the punk said ah it's just a tackle. You could hear a pin drop for those few weeks to see whether Messi would ever even play again. Very short 'Publicised' memories the msm have over that.

      I am still not pleased with how he got to the league and how the fans have reacted. I don't care who he is, if he is on the opposing team, I am booing him. You shouldn't be wearing Messi jerseys when going to games unless you are an Inter Miami fan especially if you are in the home fan sections.

      I think the last goal assist, while not optically as pleasing, was even better in terms of technique, he had to put top spin on the ball and perfectly weigh his pass.
