I mean, it is the result of corruption, but they did pay for the 99 year lease.

Not going to lie, I dk how that stadium is going to handle World Cup games. There are no kitchens, no moden infrastructure, and the bathrooms are decrepit. During games, the food is people walking around with instant ramen and the beer folks are people next to beer in garbage cans.
Awesome experience, but wouldn’t consider it sufficient for the world’s top sporting event. I’m sure lots of upgrades are in store
