Can you imagine the terrorism ball we could achieve with rice, partey and havertz as a midfield 3

    Daily reminder to:
    1) stay hydrated
    2) not stay seated for too long at a time
    3) laugh at Harry Kane

I don’t think I’d be able to mentally recover if Madrid did to us what they did to City and now Bayern in the champions league. Genuinely think your best chance of beating these lot is getting the second leg to be away from the Bernabeu

Substitutions change games, mikel needs to learn to use them especially in ucl where chaos thrives and matches are won in moments

I want Dortmund to win the CL this year because

    1) I pity Reus for missing out on the WC and last season’s Bundesliga trophy
    2) Sancho winning the UCL whilst being a key player for Dortmund would make Four Hag look like a complete idiot for what he did

I think the issue was the bayern player clearly extended his leg to be into an offside position. Had he stood upright and just focused on scoring he could’ve scored but no instead he tried extending his leg unnaturally

This is a really good article about the 115 charges Man city face: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cgrjv9ydv31o

I think it’s important to see what’s happening here aside from the usual angry fan discourse (i.e. “they will always get away with it!”). The charges aren’t actually your usual overspending on FFP rules, they’re carefully thought violations arounds of FFP, not just flat out violations. These are very serious accusations and much worse than flat PSR violations. Catching City with all 115 charges is _a lot worse_ than anything Everton or Nottingham Forest have done. City have been dragging their feet as much as possible – 35 of the 115 charges the PL is bringing against them for failure to comply. Unlike the UEFA case, they have no option to go to CAS. It’s also important to remember this case was only announced in last year in February 2023. In the grand scheme of things I don’t think this is taking that long:

    – The PL needs to get very good evidence since it’s obvious city would’ve been very sneaky with their PSR breeches and false financial records. The PL is also taking notes from what happened to the UEFA case. They don’t want to miss this time like UEFA did. There’s also no CAS here.

    – City active refused to cooperate and likely tried to cover up. The investigation was only the first part, they now need to present irrefutable evidence needed to beat City’s defense.

According the BBC the time line is:
Investigation ends charges are made (Feb 2023) –> Hearing occurs (Autumn 2024) –> Decision made (Summer 2025)

Funnily enough, 2025 summer is when Guardiola’s contract is up. I’m going out on a leg and predicting that Guardiola won’t extend. A quiet exodus of a sinking ship (or let’s just say nobody extending) might really be the key indicator here. It might also be good for city to move Guardiola away and not have him tangled up in the bad PR if something bad for them happens. This wouldn’t really suprise me, it would also give him a way out to clear his name because a lot of the failure to provide accurate financial reporting specifically come from the pre-Guardiola era (although some of the PSR breeches come as late as 2017-18).

Call me naive, but I am not really worried about the usual fan talk of “City getting away” overtaking this case. For a start there’s a lot more charges, and the PL seems to have taken the point of making a long and detailed investigation. There are a lot of parties here much more powerful than city with a point to prove should City be actually guilty of those 115 charges.

Anyways it would be pretty great if Arsenal really set themselves up for success in a post City era.

  8. I need to stop watching these twitter comps of De Jong, he is the left 8 we want. He’s an 8/6 and can his progressive passing is all from the left hand side.

De Jong – Rice – Odegaard can allow us to switch into a 4-3-3 or a 4-2 – 3 – 1 depending on the game state. Whilst also allowing Rice to be box to box knowing he can be covered by De Jong if needs be.

Real in the cl is just as boring as city in the league. They always have some fuckery esp in the later stages. Hope Dortmund win it, it would be an awesome farewell for Reus

  10. I think this is the summer where we may have to sell some of our darlings.

    – ESR
    – Nelson
    – Eddie

I think all might not have a future at the club.

As much as I hate the idea that the oil money clubs should have a right to the best players if I was Kane I would’ve been twerking for City after my first breakthrough season at Spurs.

  12. I felt it for Neuer yesterday. He was arguably on course for MOTM, he’d kept them in it and then that moment, oh man football is cruel, and being a goalkeeper is absolutely merciless.

I hope the people that like to flay Raya alive whenever an error is made watched the CL game yesterday. It even happens to probably the best keeper of his generation. Being a GK is a thankless job. No one notices most of the things you do well but any slip up is magnified x1000.

guys, do I need an arsenal membership to attend the game if I buy a ticket from here? Red memberships are closed now so I cant sign up…

Its so expensive but at this point it doesnt matter. I have supported this club from a different continent for the past 25 years or so. Please let me know if you think I can attend.

That offside goal at the very end of last nights champion league game was painful. I’d be fucking furious if I was a Bayern fan. I only saw one single replay but he looked like he could very well have been on. Poor from the linesman! Ahhh well, fuck Bayern. Football is a crazy sport where the ‘smallest’ and quickest decisions such as a linesman being a bit too trigger happy can have a such a major impact!

I just came back from the future, guys!

City smash Fulham easily 5-0, while we scrape a 2-1 win at OT. Everybody thought the title race was over.
But then City plays a scrappy and controversial 0-0 draw with disallowed goals and red cards. This sub went into a frenzy!

Then we go into the final day. City is 4-0 up to WH and is in cruise control, and the final whistle goes at the Etihad.
At our game vs Everton we’re 2-0 up with 3 minutes to go. The fans have heard the news that it’s over in Manchester and they roar the players forward.
Mikel is ballistic on the sidelines: «One more goal and we will be champions gais!! One more goal!!»

The ball is played in by Ødegaard, chaos in the box and it falls to Smith-Rowe. He thumps it into the far corner and we ALL lose our minds! Full pitch invasion and partying in the streets!
And the picture of the players lifting the trophy with the red and white ribbons will forever live on in our memories ❤️❤️❤️

  17. This Man City game comes at the right time for delusional Spuds fans. With this loss, it will be 5 losses in a row. But because it might help in Arsenal not winning the title, Spuds fans would be celebrating this loss. It will cover the poor run of form they are in. The reality of how poor their club is will be hidden from them with the celebration of us not winning the title.

Not really sure why we are bothered what an ex spurs player is up to in another league.

  19. 1 open play goal in 20 semi finals/finals and I’m expecting Harry Kane to drag us through the Euros?

    We are finished

Dear lord, can’t believe I’m seeing people go around claim that Raya had propaganda being spread about him earlier this season. If it was, it sure didn’t affect r/gunners given the comments back then.
