What is your dream as a player?”

“It was being professional and I got over it very quickly. I have won a lot, but there are still not enough trophies in my wardrobe. Now I hope to win the European Championship.”

How do you imagine life after retirement?

“I don't know in what role, but I will continue in football. In Lille, on my days off, I went to watch my friends play in amateur teams. At home I watch third and fourth division matches and study all the rankings. Victories and fame have not changed me. I don't forget where I come from and how I was raised. I try to be as simple as possible.”

What is Inzaghi's secret in managing the group?

“Attention to detail. Don't underestimate anything. And his mentality is shared by everyone at Pinetina. This is why we are so good together. He cares a lot about every detail. You can tell by how he shakes on the bench. At first I looked at it with amazement, I had never seen anything like it. Then I understood. Even after winning the championship, he told us that it is important to win the remaining games.”

Inzaghi asks you to attack. This season he has provided three assists. Are you having fun?

“Certificate. Inzaghi leaves us a lot of freedom. I had played in three-man defenses before, but it was mostly about covering. Here it's a constant back and forth. We have to go up, create space, talk to the director.”

Why did you decide to leave Bayern Munich for Inter?

“I had won everything there and I understood that it was time to change. At 27 I was looking for a new adventure, after seven years in Germany. I wanted to get to know Italy, experience the passion of Serie A. Then there is the tactics. In Monaco I played full-back, here central, the role I prefer.”

Have you ever seen a party like the Nerazzurri's for a trophy?

“In Stuttgart yes, for promotion to the Bundesliga. At Bayern Munich, less. Then there is the World Cup with France. It was incredible, but the bus in Paris traveled faster, it didn't take us eight hours like in Milan.”

Pavard, you were the first to launch the choirs for Simone Inzaghi.

“He deserves them, from the fans and also from the team. It was important that we players were the ones to shout his name first. The second star arrived thanks to everyone's work, but he is the coach.”
