Crazy how so many of these ended up being *great* buys at the end of the day.
Outside of Kepa (who even Chelsea knew at the time was a massive overpay), Cillesen, and Sanchez, the rest of these transfers are ones that I think every fan looking back will say they’d do it again in a heartbeat. (I still think Onana will do great at United once they get a back line worth more than the contents of my toilet)
And that’s in stark contrast to the most expensive outfield transfers, where 70% of them ended up being outright mistakes and most of the rest turn out to be just okay at best.
