  1. I think willson needs hige repect for what hes done but we have such few salable assets that we need to cash in on him if we can. Around ยฃ18mil and id sell him on as we need income. If he was fit every game then no way id sell him but a player of some value and one who we cant rely on has to go at the stage.

  2. Wilson is a work horse, if he wants to go let him be bought and bring in a younger striker, I'd wish him all the best.

For.that spanish defender, my concern would be are the big power houses saying "we want him" just so competition dont get him and hes left on the bench and wasted.

  3. We have a solid team just need a striker and couple defenders, I rekon top 4 next season possibly silverware. Wilson for me great player however injury prone and in reality we need another young talented player who can stay for some time. HTL

  4. If he wants to leave then we can't keep him. But there is no better second striker that would make Callum a 3rd choice attacker for our club. We can't afford to buy a 2nd choice striker. Maybe we can afford someone like Chris Wood but I do not think we have the money to buy another Callum. Zinchenko, no thank you. The toon is not a collection point for Bottlers FC rejects. Assenal can pound sand.

  5. It's a conundrum. When he's unfit we want to sell him but when he plays we are very reluctant to lose him.

How much would it cost to get a striker as good? A lot! The ideal for me is get a good reliable striker and keep Wilson to do the quality work as an enforcer.

  6. Kelly will not be demanding anywhere near the weekly wage of Hermoso.
Iโ€™m still not convinced we will go down the route of free agents as they instantly become the best payed player in the dressing room, regardless of their ranking in the squad pecking order.

  7. Nufc should keep wilson. There are not many strikers available at the moment who has proven goalscoring record in premier league. And i dont think we will be able to replace him with ffp issues

  8. Wudnt touch hermoso with a bardgepole u ob dont watch much atletico games paul over rated n over paid mostlikely.
Theres better defenders out there be suprised if madrid or barca take him aswell .

  9. He is a quality player who is worth another season,,but he is not a player able to be a reliable starter with injuries (stating the obvious I know) I would keep him, but only as 3rd striker who can start some games, if not (Wilson goes scenario) I think we will need 2 incomings for the ST position, but its going to be difficult enough getting one quality forward the way the market is regarding strikers (Price denting our FFP allowance) so yeh keep, but then we need to consider if Wilson would be happy with that role. Stay or GO ? It isn't a straightforward answer to the situation.

  10. Might as well keep Wilson for that last year, his goals are hard to replace and with a fit Isak and bringing one more in will make it easier to manage Wilson's time on the pitch to make him just as influencial

  11. I'd love Calum to stay, regardless of whether he does or not, we need another quality striker & how good would it be for the squad if we had Calum as a back-up "as and when" striker. Yes, as you say, a third choice striker but due to his age and injury record I don't think there'd be a lot of interest from premier league teams so he might just think that staying & being a fantastic emergency option is as good as he can get just now. As to what he said, I reckon he simply hasn't a clue what his future is going to look like just yet.

  12. Iโ€™d love it if we put down ยฃ100 million in front of Crystal Palace & said, โ€œThis is for Olise & Wharton, take it or leave it.โ€

  13. Sounds like Wilson is just hedging his bets. Hes a good player but he's not being paid the mega bucks and he knows if he gets a move it will be the last of his career. Personally I think he knows he's second fiddle to Isak but doesn't want to shit where he eats. And it's probably the same from the club. If a big money offer comes in we will sell him. No doubt.

  14. Paul, genuine question… why would you take Hermoso every day of the week over Lloyd Kelly? Considering this Spanish centre half has never played in the PL and I'd be surprised if many people had heard of him before last week.

  15. Wilsonโ€™s quote was a loud come and get me, to be honest he has served his purpose and can go. Donโ€™t think he wants to play second fiddle to Isak

  16. Maybe your new director of football Paulo Maldini………. I mean Dougie Freedman can sort it out ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  17. Calum Wilson will not be at Newcastle next season unfortunately. I think heโ€™s to good a player to be sitting on the bench. but I think Newcastle will be cashing in on him.

  18. He should only stay if a third striker is sourced by the club.
My fear is if Howe's whims are indulged then we will be in the same boat next season with Isak and Wilson as our only two strikers, I don't think we will bring in another one if Wilson stays.
As usual Howe buries his head in the sand lamenting what it will cost to replace Wilson when it clearly needs doing this summer.
Sell him now because it will be the last chance to make any money from him and it helps with our FFP predicament.
There is no point keeping an injury prone player for another season because we all know what will happen with him again!

Howe has proved he never learns from mistakes and his latest statement on Wilson is doomed to go down the same road again.
We need to start planning for life without Wilson but Howe never wants to make the tough decisions opting for putting a sticking plaster over a gaping wound.

  19. Wilson only stated what the actual truth is about his contract, why does everyone want a comment other than that. Speculation ruins relationships and starts rumours than 90% of the time are never true.

  20. If we get a big money offer from Saudi, we should take it. He's been amazing for us when fit. I certainly wouldn't sell him to another PL club though, he doesn't deserve to be 3rd choice but I'd love him to stay, he still bags goals, and that costs millions ro replace. If we're planning on bringing in another striker… Athletico wanted Wilson, so maybe a swap + cash deal could be done for Hermoso? I want Zinchenko nowhere NEAR us!

  21. I'd like him to stay ๐Ÿ‘I read that he's 12 goals away from getting into the 100 club so would be great to see him join the Premier League 100 club while at Newcastle ๐Ÿ‘
