Everton were held to a goalless draw in a breathless Merseyside derby as the Blues offered another exciting snapshot of what the future could hold under manager Frank Lampard.

Only a marginal offside call denied Everton victory, with Conor Coady’s close-range 68th-minute strike chalked off by VAR.

Tom Davies struck the post in the first half and Neal Maupay was denied a dream debut derby goal by an outstanding Alisson save.

Jordan Pickford was also exceptional for Everton, with brilliant saves from Darwin Nunez and Roberto Firmino preserving the Blues’ clean sheet.

  1. People ask here "Why Salah didn't score?" If you looked at the match you wouldn't ask the questions, Mo played in a different and unusual position, and most of the time he was compelled to play in the midfield, there wasn't someone who could give him a pass. Mo Salah is more dangerous near a penalty area, and he almost scored in the end of the match. I first noticed how he worked in defense when Everton players were running to counterattack Mo Salah rushed back, stayed near Alisson, and helped him to save our team.

  2. To be honest liverpool can say bye bye for the EPL CROWN. I can only hope n pray liverpool can qualify for the top four position n the only person is fully responsible is the dole owner. To me it is the end of the world
