Is Kalvin Phillips Wrong for doing this to a West Ham Fan?
We’ll need to rewind to figure out how things even got to that point to answer that question properly.
After being a fan favourite at Leeds, Phillips’ career has been in sharp decline after his big-money move to Manchester City.
Pep publicly called him overweight, and after barely getting any minutes at City, he’s left on loan, which also isn’t going well. Safe to say he’s really low on confidence and rhythm.
A couple of days ago West Ham were up 3-1 vs Newcastle in the second half, but then Phillips was subbed on. He gave up a penalty, and the match ended in Newcastle winning 4-3. Yikes. After that collapse, a West Ham fan called him “useless”, and that’s the full story.
Was he wrong for responding like that? It’s bad taste but I think more fans deserve responses like that with some of the stuff they yell at players. But doing that will surely only make things go from bad to worse.

It's not wrong. But it's not right
