  1. I think the big difference is that he is using his body a lot better than he did the first year. I think the boss told him to take his time a little. he is big enough to create space for himself, and he has long ass legs where most midfielders would need two leg lengths to get the ball off him. The 2nd half of the season, Partey has been something else.

  2. As a Man Utd fan, this was Arsenal best buy in years along with Odegaard. I wanted him at our club for such a long and surprised no other big team went for him.

  3. The way he uses his first touch so precisely to take him away from his marker and into the space to dribble or look up for the pass just reminds me of Zidane so much. Also the way sometimes he allows the ball to roll across his body before dropping his shoulder and taking his touch past his man with strong physical strides and then effortlessly provide a perfect pass. And yes comparing anyone to Zidane is a huge compliment but Thomas Partey is just a different class from most midfielders I see.

  4. Seeing this video makes thinkful…most of the footages are from last season, when arsenal was struggling with the results and shoots on goals. We can see now how long a process can be.

During one year and a half, the players were mostly learning positionning on the field, passing lines, keeping and passing the ball under pressure, and creating offensive phases in arteta style.

Now, after 2 years, we can see glimpses of the final product. And to be honest, i too was criticising arteta, but now the game is really beautiful. Beautiful phases, some high intensity attacking football, and a tactical maturity that i havent see in Arsenal since a long time.

  5. His best performance was against City. He was the best player on the pitch that day. Against the likes of Rodri, De bruyne and Bernardo

  6. He reminds me so much of a wonderful midfielder we used to have by the name of Abou Diaby whose career at Arsenal was plighted by endless injuries. I pray that Thomas doesn't end up like him. We need this guy. He's a unique talent

  7. First thing he is very good is protecting possession of ball, then the vision where his mates were to progress in the attack.

  8. Two main principles all Ghanaian players operate by: You’re not taking the ball from me and no matter who you’re, am taking the ball away from you.
