Former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka says he still watches every Arsenal match and is hopeful the Gunners can last the distance in the Premier League title race and clinch their first league title in 20 years.

TIMESTAMPS:

0:00 Intro

0:01 Losing matches is part of the game but when you lose once it doesn’t mean you’ve lost everything. There’s still six games left in the Premier League, still have a great chance. I wish them all the best because I still support them.

0:35 I hope trophies will come soon. The football club deserves to win trophies. They are very close this year but the small details are the difference in football.

0:59 You never know what happens in football. I had very good times in Arsenal for seven years. I knew the philosophy behind Bayer Leverkusen that’s why I moved here. To win something in the first year would be very special. We are so close in Europe now, you want to take something.

1:50 Alonso staying sends a message? For sure, he knew as a player want it means to have this character. I had the feeling from the first day he wanted to stay with us. He’s an unbelievable person but also a coach. The ideas, the training show his character as well. I’m very happy to be a part of his team.

2:42 It wasn’t difficult to lift ourselves after the league title. We knew we had this game today. We came back after the first half and showed big character. We’ve shown how good we are.

3:25 We’ve scored over 30 goals after 80 minutes this season. This shows our mentality. You play with belief and hunger to get something, it shows the character of the team.

3:59 Invincible season? We want to try it for sure. You need to be unbeaten to win the Europa League. Five games to go in the league, we have to keep going, keep working as we have been this season.

  1. There’s no doubt Granit Xhaka’s Arsenal cycle had come to an end last season but I’m sure Mikel Arteta would love to have his character within the dressing room right now 😬

  2. Class act. Always has been. A determined, thoughtful leader who loves his teammates and will die for the badge. I loved him from the first year at the Arsenal, and i never waivered. NEVER. I basically battled fools online for most of that time and i didn't mind (because they are fools, like i said) I have three Xhaka AFC jerseys and i still want one his Swiss and Leverkusen shirts! 💜💪🏾

  3. I had to log in to type this out,

It hurts that he's no longer here,

He's a special person IMO and in the end we didn't deserve him, we thought we was a Gallas when he ended up being a Kanu!

Perhaps I'm a little too emotional but I'm glad he got to play for The Arsenal!

  4. Believe it or not this guy's one of the biggest reasons leverkusen won this trophy. He's now in his prime and with so much experience it's just
unfortunate he left arsenal at the wrong time. Alonso is a very smart guy he moved fast and grab him. He would have improved any team greatly in the world. Wish you all the best xhaka hope you guys win the europa too. You deserved it!

  5. The fans need to remember they made this geezer leave us.

""Don't it all always seem to go, That you don't know what you've got till it's gone….?" – Joni Mitchell [never lies]"

  6. Yes Granit, Arsenal deserve to win trophies and they should better win the Premier League this season. Last season was very disappointed and you and your former team should really have won the League. Congratulations to you for helping Bayer Leverkusen winning their first ever Bundesliga title, I hope you helping your team to win the next two trophies and finished the Invincible season with them. And thank you for supporting Arsenal, I hope you one day returned to play for your former club again in the future and I always love you. Once a Gunner, always a Gunner. ❤️
