the remark from the commentator at the beginning "we should win this comfortably" encapsulates this defeat: no game at the top level is easy. the margin between the very best and the also-rans is minimal, and is only maintained when players perform at their absolute limit. Wales gave far too much space to Armenia, and give that to any team and they'll make chances against you. the only sense that Wales were unlucky is that a couple of Armenia's finishes were breath-taking

Armenia have improved significantly in recent years. Bulgaria are the only European national team that hasn't improved, they have in fact diminished badly, due to the government being so shit. They were amazing at USA 1994, one of the great moments in football, magical stuff.
