Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s late strike from the penalty spot earned Everton a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

The Blues fell behind after 15 minutes when Alexander Isak latched on to a lofted pass and prodded into the far corner of the net.

But the Toffees toiled and, following a triple substitution on the hour mark following a VAR check to deny the hosts a second goal of the night, were much-improved in the second half and eventually got their equaliser two minutes from the end when Calvert-Lewin dispatched a spot-kick.

  1. All I want is consistency. It's a clear penalty, but how many times have incidents just like this one been waved away with nothing given? Let's be clear, it was a penalty, but refereeing in this country is a joke.

  2. Now thats a raid, steely performance second half. Must surely be DCL and Doucs or Gomes and Beto , the other combos just dont work

  3. Newcastle goal was not offside. Pictures shown to ref were after ball kicked. Used to be a fan of Dummit, should never play for toon again.

  4. Plenty of games where we deserved something and got nothing, suppose last night was the opposite, very lucky to get a point. Though Onana looked very disinterested, sub did make a big difference when they came on. Hughe game next Sat. UTFT

  5. Stuck with Dyche. Haven’t the money to sack him and bring in someone else.

Carsley or Moyes would do a better job. Dyche is tactically stubborn and only has a plan A which doesn’t work. Saturday’s result and the hearing outcome will determine our fate this season

  6. I do think that everton will trun it around it could go down to the wire again if they want premier football they have to trun it around keep the faith everton fans 😅😅
