“It feels good. It’s interesting because in my career I’ve won quite a few things but I haven’t won them playing. And this is a very different feeling to that when you’ve contributed, when you’ve been very much part of it. And I think today, looking up my contribution, I’m proud. Proud to have been able to give that to the team, but more importantly, proud to have been able to give it to the club and the fans I think ultimately carried us over the line today.”

That’s an interesting aspect of winning I guess I’d not considered much. Yeah there’s always jokes about players who ride the bench and still get a medal but I’d not thought about a players own feeling of worth in wearing that medal. Because we know they contribute in training, in the dressing room etc but at the same time they’re all at the top level because they are competitive you don’t make it there if you’re not so is contributing off the pitch enough at that point? Makes me think of when Roord said she didn’t like wearing no.12. No one deserves to feel involved more though than Lotte imo.
