This is complete recency bias, utterly ridiculous, he has had maybe 2 excellent seasons at Liverpool. Vidic was immense in a title winning team and two champions league finals, one of which he won. Ferdinand is a better defender by far not to mention John Terry, VVD isn't even top 5 for me, this is pure recency bias
