Pope saved spot-kicks from Luka Milivojevic, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Malcolm Ebiowei as the hosts prevailed 3-2 after a goalless 90 minutes.
Chris Wood, Kieran Trippier and Joelinton each converted for Newcastle.

I agree with Supermac, I think Newcastle Utd looked tired and leg weary and sluggish. I think when there are more games there must be less training. Stretching, Jacuzzi, sauna, bit of bike etc that's it, More usage of subs too. We must have a Super sub incl. In fact, the usual training only for 'the Pope' and the regular subs.
