Raheem Sterling will return to England’s World Cup base in Qatar ahead of Saturday’s quarter-final against France.

The Chelsea forward has been with his family in Surrey since missing England’s 3-0 win over Senegal in Sunday’s World Cup last-16 game, following a break-in at his home.

  1. Is Ben White watching this? This is how proper professionals conduct themselves, whites ego got in the way and spat the dummy out when he realised he wasn't going to be used much

  2. This should've been the Final match but alas we see these two great teams meet so soon. Brasil is a great team but hasn't been tested yet. I don't think Croatia is as strong as they were in 2018 World Cup

  3. Personally I wouldn't want him playing in the France game. He's had a head fck with issues back home, will be jet lagged, behind on training and having to re-adapt to a starting 11 with impact subs already pretty much decided now. He's quality but I don't think his head will be in the right place this early on.

  4. Sterling on as a Sub with 25 minutes to go would pose some problems to tiring French defenders. England have a very strong TEAM. And a great manager

  5. Glad he's back but he should stay on the bench as a substitute. It would be unfair of Southgate to just throw him into a game of this magnitude given the current form of Foden/Rashford but especially when he's not mentally recovered fully yet
