The USMNT has been eliminated from the 2022 World Cup, should Gregg Berhalter stay as the head coach?

The US Soccer Federation apparently wants to renew his contract.

Who will be the USMNT stars to lead the team in 2022?

  1. I'd rather just give the job to another MLS manager than keep Gregg on. At least with a new manager players feel like they have a fresh chance to impress the new boss.

  2. One of Berhalter’s biggest mistakes has been his illusion that his MLS players can help him in the World Cup. Ultimately he had to mostly rely on European players, and his MLS subs were poor. He included MLS players in his squad in expense of other quality European based players such as Pepi.

  3. Berhalter has seriously underachieved given the players he had available to him. Majority of his players are champions league quality. His main tactic during the World Cup: “run your ass off.” He should have done better during qualification and in the World Cup with the European-based talent in his team. Please not another four years with Berhalter.

  4. SO SO true about the Fox Sports WC coverage…I wish NBC would splash the cash…I don't speak Spanish but I find myself watching Peacock's Telemundo coverage.

  5. Agree with everthing you say in this video, Tac! Look at Japan, South Korea, Morocco, Senegal, and other smaller teams in this WC. It is safe to say we have better players, overall, and more resources, yet, these teams punch way higher above their weight than we can. WE NEED A NEW COACH!

  6. Given what is required for USMFT to become competitive in a WC cycle …….Berhalter does not have the skill set to move this team forward. If he remains in post I would not expect the US to achieve anything better than this cycle in fact due to pre qualification I don’t expect US to get out of the group stages in WC2026.

  8. I don’t care what you said about USA vs Morocco. We played with Long, we’re missing Dest, Reyna, McKennie, and played Ferreira. We kicked their ass and it’s something to be proud of.

  9. Found a great read on barstool sports about the nepotism of USA soccer. Says how the failure of making the World Cup created a massive boom of fan awareness of the corruption of ussf. If they hire this minimalist coach . I can’t watch them anymore

  10. The negotiations where happening no matter if the plan is for him to stay or go. The negotiations are set up to happen after the world cup far in advance. It's just a necessary step in the process of keeping him or letting him go. Beginning the negotiations doesn't have to mean they want to rehire him. Now yes, of course, wanting to keep him sounds like what USSF leadership would want if I had to guess.

  11. Not Tac calling a article about support for Berhalter propaganda. Then having a completely one sided take where are favorite internet analyst diminishes the opinions of players who are far more qualified to offer an opinion then him. All while pushing the equally biased and one sidded narrative that this squad was some generational squad. Simply because they mainly ride benches in Europe and have upside this current team looses to the 2010 and 2014 team hands down. Quit projecting what you want them to be and judge what they are. This team lead every statistical category against Netherlands why is it not on the players performance on the field and all on the coach. Give England the same possessions and shots and they score multiple goals. Players chocked just as much as Greg but that doesn't fit your narrative.

  12. Please resign it’s over for him. Americans should be using real brains and hire an European coach with lots of experience. Maurinho, Beckham, Guardiola, Bento??? As long as it’s a coach that played on high level himself and coached many teams before. Knowledge is power and that’s what lacks with Greggy for sure

  13. Bob Bradley had also defeated SPAIN in the 2009 Confederations Cup and taken the team to the FINALS, losing to Brazil in a close match. With a less talented group of players. Bradley is a way better and more accomplished coach than Gregg.
