  1. In short, no. His Xg and Xa is still much lower our other attackers. His job as a winger in angeball is to either play an early ball to the striker making a run beyond the cb, or to get past his fullback and then cut the ball back to our other winger at the back stick. When the ball is on the other side it's his job to be the one getting to the back stick. He does that 2nd part well but has been poor at the first part and tbh can see that he doesn't have the technical ability to ever do this which his xg and xa is indicative of.

  2. I liked him at Forest and was excited that he came to us. He is young and will take time to reach his potential. The issue was that he came not long after Richarlison (who came after Tangay) and their fees were so big, it was inevitable that fans would view him (unfairly) in the same way. He'll come through. COYS!

  3. I want my attackers to be a greater goal threat, and he's doing that slowly but surely. Same with Timo. Ange is a fantastic manager, look what he got out of the fringe players this year. No doubt at all that he'll get the most of Johnson and Timo too. Coys!

  4. He’s still young and has a trait that you cannot teach -speed. With the proper coaching and real game experience he can potentially be the best winger in our team.

  5. Good commentary. We need patience with these players. They are not robots. People forget that Sonny did not come rushing out of the blocks and become a superstar immediately, and the same can be said of many of our players. Brennan is a very young man and he has his ups and downs. He is starting to show his talent, and he will be tearing up the turf in the weeks and months to come. It doesn't help when fans get ugly and start abusing our own players.

The other thing that we seem to forget is that players are always on the move – getting better or worse, and hopefully better with good management. Ange has enabled a number of our players to get better. If players get to this level of the game, they have exceptional talent. They don't always show it – they lose confidence, there are problems off the pitch – whatever it might be. But if we can create an environment where we support our players, where the movement is always upwards, then we'll develop a winning team. Ange is doing his part. As fans we need to do our part. That doesn't mean we ignore weaknesses, but it should mean we understand our role in helping the team and the players to improve continuously.

  6. Can everyone just get over the fact that Johnson is pretty? He's got the goods. He's toughening up. He's got the repertoire of skills. And the pace. He was only supposed to play off the bench this season. He'll go up a level through the rest of this season and into the next.

  7. We are doing well this season. We could have easily had another 8th (or worse) place finish and been battered by the biggest teams but that has not happened. The bile that a loud chunk of our fanbase spew against our players like Johnson, Timo, Kulu, Royal and others is disgusting. These fair weather fans should support our players and our club and stop whining about Korean fans and wishing death on our players for just a below par performance. It’s making it hard to be a part of this great club. We’re becoming a fickle and entitled fanbase.

  8. Johnson has always been the first one in on a fight at Tottenham – look at how he jumped in for Ange during Bournemouth. Johnson is that quiet one who takes up for the team.
